I was born in Paris in 1988, and grew up in France and Switzerland. I live since 6 years in Germany and spent considerable time in Brazil and Indonesia. Therefore, I speak French, German, English, and I can hold basic conversations in Portuguese and Indonesian.

Here is an overview of my education and research experience:

  • Undergraduate study in Natural Sciences

From 2006 until 2008, I followed an intensive study program in natural sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, geology and mathematics) at the École Nationale de Chimie Physique Biologie (ENCPB) in Paris, France.

In the special program « Classe Préparatoire aux Grandes Écoles », I prepared myself for the national competitive examination to enroll in one of the French Polytechnic Institutes.

  • Engeneer degree in Agronomy

In september 2012, I received an Engineering degree (equivalent grade of a Master’s degree) from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (INP-ENSAT), France. There, I studied agricultural and environmental sciences with a specialization in Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing. My diploma thesis received the Xavier Bernard foundation Award from the French Academy of Agriculture in 2013.

During a gap year in 2010/2011, I gained international experiences. I did a 6-month internship at the French Institute for Development (IRD) in northern Vietnam. I then joined the Norwegian Forest and Landscape Institute for another 6-month internship in southern Norway.

  • PhD in Earth System Science

In November 2015, I submitted my PhD in Earth System Sciences at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Germany. My PhD thesis was graded “magna cum laude” (very good) and published in May 2016 by the Geography department at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany.

As a member of the International Research Training Group on Complex Networks (IRTG 1740), I spent 6 months at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) and the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil.

I received a Start-up Research Grant (Nov. 2015 – Apr. 2016) from the IRTG1740 to prepare my next career steps.

  • Post-doc in Ecology

Since May 2016, I am post-doctoral researcher at the University of Göttingen, in the group Biodiversity, Macroecology and Biogeography led by Prof. Holger Kreft.

I am a member of the Collaborative Research Center “Ecological and Socioeconomic Functions of Tropical Lowland Rainforest Transformation Systems (Sumatra, Indonesia)”.
